Here is a quick exercise that will work both sides of your brain and a great way of putting some needed perspective into our lives.

Think of a business or personal goal or situation you want to address, apply the following questions, and see where your creative juices and imagination lead you.  The questions may appear very simple on the surface but go much deeper as you move through the questioning timeline.

Let’s get right to it. Take a little time to honestly write the answers to the following questions, relating to your end result. Picture today and then your end result, and use this exercise to fill in the gaps.

  1. What would be your Immediate Needs to obtain success?
    • (What would you need to do to start right now?)
  2. What would need to be your Short Term goal to succeed?
    • (What should happen in the next three months?)
  3.  What is your Long Term Goal for this challenge?
    • (What would it need to look like in a year from now?)
  4. If you had a Magic Wand and could wave it over your current situation how would you change or make it better?
    • (What would you do to change things today to ensure success?)
  5.  What area(s) have you Identified that would need to be addressed in the future, to build and establish your goal or situation?
    • (Based on your experience, what would need to be addressed sooner-or-later?)

And lastly,
What would it mean to you personally to achieve this objective?

Enjoy, and there is no real format to follow other than where your mind leads you.  And remember, “Lofty goals require lofty actions”, so don’t limit yourself or where the left or the right side of your brain might take you.  For those of you that do stretch your cranium, some feedback for us all would be insightful and appreciated.
